An intimate full-day event dedicated to the local game development community, organized by Game Makers Iceland.Reykjavík Game Summit brings together local talent and international speakers for a day of talks, insights, and genuine connection. The event is designed for game designers, narrative designers, developers, and creative leaders who want to learn, share ideas, and find inspiration alongside their peers.Now in its second year, RGS has become a highlight of the Icelandic games calendar.
Your Host in 2026: Greg Hennessey

Reykjavík Game Summit 2026 will be hosted by Greg Hennessey, Game Design Director of EVE Online. Greg has been designing games for 24 years on a range of titles from open-world action games, racing games, RPGs and MMOs — with credits at studios including Radical Entertainment, EA, Phoenix Labs, and Timbre Games.Greg is a familiar face at RGS. In 2025, he delivered the opening talk of the conference and hosted a widely praised fireside chat with Johan Pilestedt. He brings warmth, expertise, and a genuine passion for supporting people's growth in the industry.

Binni ErlingssonPrincipal, Behold Ventures
Binni has been playing games since 1982, which then later turned into a long career in the video game industry. He's worked with data and analytics for 25 years and did the same for gaming companies where he started and led analytics and research departments for 5 of the top 10 revenue gaming companies in Sweden: Mojang, DICE, Paradox, Avalanche and Toca Boca. He also worked on EVE Online in his native Iceland. Binni has seen the rise of the Swedish gaming industry from the inside and is now working with Behold Ventures finding interesting companies and opportunities to invest in within the gaming space.

Celia HodentGame UX Strategist (Independent)
Celia Hodent, PhD in psychology, is recognized as a leader in the application of user experience and cognitive science in the game industry. With over 18 years of experience in game studios (Ubisoft, LucasArts, & director of UX at Epic Games), she has contributed in advancing the topics of UX strategy, inclusion, and ethics in games. Author of several critically acclaimed books on games and psychology (e.g. The Gamer's Brain), Celia is the founder of the Game UX Summit & the Ethical Games initiative. She works today as an independent consultant and is an international public speaker.

Eric HolmesCreative Director & Founder
Eric Holmes is a Scottish game designer, writer, and creative director with 29 years of experience in PC/console development, new IP creation, and the strange ritual sacrifice known as "shipping a videogame."He has worked across major franchises and original projects, including serving as Creative Director on Batman: Arkham Origins, leading major creative work across three Battlefield games, and contributing to the early playable foundations of Fortnite: Save the World. His focus is on vision, worldbuilding, player fantasy, narrative design, and building creative teams that can survive contact with reality.Eric is currently exploring how smaller teams can make dangerously ambitious games in an industry where the old rules are becoming increasingly expensive to believe in.

Fabiana MascoloSenior UI/UX Designer, Fenris Creations
Fabiana Mascolo is a Senior UI/UX Designer at Fenris Creations, where she has spent the last four years helping shape the player experience of EVE Online, one of the world's longest-running and most complex MMO sandboxes. Across more than eight years in game development, she has focused on player-centered design, UX research, and complex systems, spanning MMO development, gamification, and B2B products, helping players navigate and understand complex gameplay experiences.Alongside her work in games, Fabiana is an internationally published comic artist whose clients include DC Comics, Dark Horse, Wizards of the Coast, and CD Projekt Red, with credits on Catwoman, Magic: The Gathering, The Witcher, and Cyberpunk 2077, among others.She is also an educator, mentor, and public speaker who regularly shares insights on UX, game development, and visual storytelling through teaching, workshops, and industry events.

Halldór Snær KristjánssonCEO & Game Director, Myrkur Games
Halldór Snær is the CEO and co-founder of Myrkur Games, where he leads game development and the company's overall operations.He also serves as Chairman of the Icelandic Game Industry (IGI), where he works to strengthen the Icelandic game industry, support its growth, and enhance its position on the international stage.

Joon Van HoveIndependent Game Designer
Joon is an independent game developer and designer who has been steadily releasing games for over a decade. His focus has been on innovative playful experiences and working together with collaborators in the indie space. He was technical director on the viral e-sports parody game Q-UP (2025) and time-trial racing game Phantom Spark (2024). Previously he designed and directed the award winning squirrel surveillance game NUTS (2021), and mobile titles Don't Trip (2019) and Invert (2017).In the past he served on the advisory board and presented roundtables at GDC, created and taught games courses at Reykjavik University, and co-founded the Screenshake and Isle of Games collectives which organize cultural games events.
